Pursuit of Happiness Week!

I heard on CNN this morning that this week is Pursuit of Happiness week! I'm not usually big on holidays and things like that- but this is one that I had to get behind! Check out this post I found on onlineorganizing.com.

What on earth does pursuing happiness have to do with getting organized? Well, they are both all about focusing on your PRIORITIES. How often do you find yourself giving up activities that you love to take on responsibilities that you hate? Maybe it's time to reassess where you are spending your time! If you find that your TIME is continually being eaten up by distasteful tasks, annoying interruptions, toxic people, or other things that drain you of energy, you aren't living an organized or fulfilling life. Let's focus on making every moment count by clearing out the CLUTTER that routinely and unnecessarily robs us of happiness.

Some Practical Organizing Tips...
Have you ever stopped to think about what you priorities actually are -- what gives you joy? Time with your friends or family? Nature? Art? Now look at how you spend your time -- do you make room in your SCHEDULE for these things? Why not?

Get into the habit of making time each day for something you truly ENJOY. It could be something small -- like a walk in the park or a quiet cup of tea -- as long as it makes you happy. And treat your me time like it's sacred -- don't let anything interrupt you.

If you have a hard time figuring out what makes you happy, create a REWARDS list -- ways that you can do something enjoyable. And come up with several levels of rewards -- what would you do with 15 free minutes? An hour? A whole day?

P.S. Take the below quiz on your level of organization and distraction at work.
